Awesome Author Challenge 2010

Alyce at At Home With Books is hosting this awesome Awesome Author Challenge 2010. It runs all of 2010 and you can choose from four different levels of challenging. Alyce writes, "The idea behind this challenge is to read works by authors who have been recommended to you time and again, yet somehow you haven't managed to read any books by those authors. These are the authors that everyone else tells you are awesome, thus the "Awesome Author Challenge" title." I am choosing the easy level which is to read one title from three 'awesome' authors. Here are the authors:

Nathaniel Hawthorne
Anthony Trollope
Dorothy Whipple (completed Someone At A Distance)

If you are interested in participating, please click on the button able to visit At Home With Books.

Thanks for signing up! I'm not familiar with Anthony Trollope or Dorothy Whipple - I'll have to look them up on amazon.

Oh thanks for mentioning these. I have to consider the Christmas and the author one. Thanks for posting about these.

Great choices! After reading Someone at a Distance, I can heartily recommend Dorothy Whipple. I have a bookmark about halfway through The Way We LIve Now by Trollope. Was enjoying it quite a bit when I put it aside for a book club selection... since I'm still wondering how it all turns out, it's probably time to pick it up again!

Alyce - Thank you for hosting:)

Diane - I couldn't resist the Christmas one:) With the author one I wanted to challenge myself to choose different books than the ones I did for your challenge.

JoAnn - Whipple is so well liked and with plenty to choose from among the Persephone titles, I couldn't resist. The Way We Live Now was mentioned in Susan Hill's new book and reading your good words about it, I am glad I made this choice:)

I haven't read anything by Trollope or Whipple, I'll have to check them out. I think this will be a very interesting challenge.

Awesome is not the word that comes to my mind when I think of Nathaniel Hawthorne, but I did enjoy visiting his house.

Charley - Is that the house in Salem? I am hoping to get up there sometime next year...hopefully to coincide with reading him.
